Get Your Flu Vaccine at SKY BLUE MEDICAL GROUP

Get Your Flu Vaccine at SKY BLUE MEDICAL GROUP - FROM THE 1ST OCTOBER 2026

Flu season is here again – and the best way to protect yourself, your loved ones, and our community is by getting your flu vaccine.

Why Get the Flu Vaccine?

  • Protect yourself – flu can be serious, especially for older adults, young children, and people with long-term health conditions.
  • Protect your loved ones – even if you’re fit and healthy, you can still pass flu on to more vulnerable people.
  • Protect the NHS – fewer cases of flu means less pressure on hospitals and GP surgeries during the busy winter months.

Why From October Onwards?

The flu season usually starts in late autumn. Getting your vaccine from October onwards means your protection is at its strongest right when flu begins to circulate. Having it too early can mean your immunity wears off before peak season – so timing really matters.

Why Book at Your Surgery?

There are lots of places to get your flu jab – but having it at your GP surgery has some big advantages-

  • Your records are instantly updated – no need to chase pharmacies or worry if your vaccine has been logged.
  • Continuity of care – your GP knows your medical history and can give advice tailored to you.
  • We reinvest in patient care – every vaccine given at the surgery directly supports our NHS services and keeps funding within your community.
  • Convenient and safe – our clinics are set up with your comfort and safety in mind.

Flu vaccination clinics

Our main flu vaccination campaign will run from 1–9 October at both Green Lane Medical Centre and Harnall Lane Medical Centre.

We have a selection of early morning, lunchtime and afternoon appointments available, as well as a Saturday clinic at Green Lane Medical Centre on 3 October.

When booking ONLINE, please make sure you select the correct surgery site and an appointment slot for your age group.

We have a limited supply of flu vaccines and expect to use our available stock by the end of 9 October. It is therefore important that you book promptly and attend one of our main flu clinics wherever possible.

We may offer a small number of mop-up clinics at both surgery sites from the week commencing 12 October. However, these will depend entirely on how much vaccine stock we have remaining and cannot be guaranteed.

If you cannot attend one of our available clinic dates, you can also receive your free NHS flu vaccination from a participating local pharmacy. You can find a pharmacy and check its availability using the NHS pharmacy finder:

https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-services/vaccination-and-booking-services/find-a-pharmacy-that-offers-free-flu-vaccination/

Please note that Sky Blue Medical Group is providing flu vaccinations only. We are not providing COVID-19 vaccinations.
