Practice Nurses / Health Care Assistant
We have three Nurses and a Health Care Assistant, working across both surgeries. Their numerous tasks include: infant and adult immunisation, cervical smears, dressings, removal of stitches, ear syringing, monitor blood pressure, asthma, diabetes and medication reviews, travel advice, NHS Healthchecks, Well Man & Well Woman checks.

Over 30 years experience in hospital settings and 20 years as a Practice Nurse.
Experience working in Orthopaedics at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire.
Responsibilities: Managing long term medical conditions in clinics, Child immunisations, Travel advice, Smears, Ear irrigation, NHS health checks, Wound care, Diabetes, Hypertension and Asthma clinics, Injections, assisting with Minor surgery and Coil insertion, ECG, Contraception advice and Lifestyle advice.

Receptionists
The reception staff will assist you in making emergency and routine appointments to see your doctor or a nurse, manage repeat prescriptions requests and queries, and will offer help and assistance at all times. We have a Reception Manager at each site, Julie Pearse at Green Lane and Emma Levy at Harnall Lane.

It is a legal requirement that confidentiality of patients’ records is maintained at the highest level by all staff. Please respect our receptionists - physical or verbal abuse of our staff is not acceptable. Any incidents will always be logged and reported to the police in view to prosecution. Aggressive or violent patients may forfeit their right to be on a GP’s list.

Our Referrals Support are Bilkis Hussain and Carol Paxton based at Green Lane. They deal with all referrals to hospitals, community clinics etc, for our patients. For any private consultations or medicals please contact the site that you usually attend. These have to be made in advance and are out of main surgery times and are chargeable,as they are a Non-NHS service and will be booked in the doctors private time.
Finance, IT, clinical data coding and inputting is based at Green Lane site.
Attached Staff
The practice has attached health visitors, midwives, district nurses, counsellors and close links with the community psychiatric nurses. These healthcare professionals are employed by Arden, Herefordshire & Worcestershire Area Team (AHW-AT) and work closely with all staff in the practice.
