Obesity

33% of British Adults obese by 2010

A British government report states that 12 million adults in the UK will be obese by 2010. The study also covered childhood obesity. The report states that 20% of British children will be obese by the same date.

Prime Minister Tony Blair said a new fitness strategy was urgently needed so his government now has a Minister of Fitness whose goal is to combat obesity. Other ideas like banning junk food advertising during prime time television hours are also being discussed.
